Gallbladder Polyp on Your Ultrasound: What It Means and When Surgery Is Needed
"Gallbladder polyp" on an ultrasound report worries many people. The reassuring news is that most gallbladder polyps are small and harmless. A few need follow-up scans, and only some need surgery.
What is a gallbladder polyp? पॉलिप क्या है?
A polyp is a small growth from the inner wall of the gallbladder seen on ultrasound. Most are cholesterol polyps — not true growths — and don't turn into cancer. A small number are adenomas, which have potential to become cancerous over time, especially when larger.
